Free Youth Dance Outreach Project

Equinox is proud to announce our first ever Free Youth Dance Outreach Project!

Six weeks of classes in modern dance technique and dance improvisation culminating in a performance with the company in our big spring show. Students will have the chance to meet the company dancers, dance with them and participate in a professional show. The cost is free but students need to attend all of the classes and the show! Classes will be held in the gallery studio space at the Cultural Arts Center.*

Class dates: March 7th through April 18th on Sundays from 3-4pm (off on Easter, the weekend of 3/27 will rehearse on Saturday instead of Sunday)

Performance Date: Saturday April 24th at 2pm (students need to arrive at 12:30 in order to run the piece onstage before the performance).

Performance at the National Theater

Equinox Dance Company is excited and honored to present two free shows at the National Theater in downtown Washington, DC: Monday, February 8th at 6pm and 7:30. Two 50-minute, animated performances for family audiences in the Helen Hayes Gallery.

Audience members should expect an eclectic mix of exciting modern dance, jazz and tap. EDC's choreography collective brings multiple voices to the stage with works from many up-and-coming choreographers. Debuting Cogworks - an honestly bizarre interpretation of the daily grind; New Day, a powerful modern piece examining the strength of women worldwide and Mercy a show-stopping tap number that won't leave you begging for anything. In the intimate and beautiful historic Helen Hayes Gallery, EDC will transport you through a series of dances and even physically transport you around the gallery for a surprise ending.

Please arrive 30 minutes before the show to receive a ticket. Tickets are handed out - one per person - on a first come, first served basis.

Please stay for a few minutes after the show for a talk back and to meet the company.
